What would it be like if you weren’t paying attention and you decided to give in to temptation and disobey God? Right at the moment you sin, the trumpet of the Lord sounds and you are Raptured to be with Him … the first thing you see is the LORD, right as you were sinning! No wonder some may be “ashamed of Him” at His coming. (1 John 2:28)
Or another scenario: suppose you are with unbelievers and instead of witnessing Christ’s free gospel of grace to them, you are mocking them, telling them unholy jokes, or joining them in sin? Then the trumpet sounds and you disappear; what impression will you have left with your unsaved loved ones? Will that person ever come to Christ?
So, let’s always think about His return so that everything we do in word or deed might give glory to Our Heavenly Father and purify ourselves even as He is pure! (1 John 3:3)
