"26 When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son! 27 Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home." John 19:26-27
Don’t you think the Lord is fully aware of your limitations; if He is asking you to go, don’t you think He will enable you to be sent? All He is asking for us is to be willing to go. Look at John in our Bible passage today. He was ready and available at the foot of the cross; the moment Jesus gave Mary into his care, John immediately took Mary into his own household to care for her. He obeyed his master, even in the most dire of circumstances. Won’t you stop making excuses today, and serve Him when He has called you?
There is something else that is commendable in John’s actions; His decision to obey and take Mary as his own mother showed a very important characteristic of his heart; want to know what it is? Listen to the whole sermon below or look out for the next blog entry in two days!
