God wants all Christians to strive for His rewards, His crowns that do not fade away. Just like an Olympic athlete needs to put away vices and discouragements to win the games, we must also put aside our sins so that we may win the race before us!
God is expecting to reward you with a crown for staying faithful to Jesus in this life; do not lose that reward by giving up, failing to keep God's word, or denying His name. Instead, hold fast to what He has given you until He returns!
Why is the Crown of Glory the most difficult passage for Pastors to preach from? Because it's about how they will be accountable one day to the Chief Shepherd for taking care of His flock; for the rest of us sheep, we can be a glory to our Chief Shepherd's crown!
The Bible does not teach the Christian life is easy; instead, it portrays that even godly people have adversity. The only way to handle the adversity of life is to remember that God never leaves or forsakes His own!
